Our Story
Creating a Demano Barcelona product is an artisanal process that begins with the collection and cleaning of materials. After transforming them through design, cutting, and sewing, we collaborate with small local workshops, some of which are socially integrated, that handcraft each piece. Thus, the soul of Barcelona lives on in each product, ready for new stories with its owners.

Unique pieces
By reusing waste materials, our work is a true craft. Each material must be processed by hand to ensure it is properly cleaned and treated. The process is therefore not strictly industrial, allowing each piece to retain its uniqueness.

Sustainable design
Demano allows non-recyclable materials that currently cannot be recycled as raw materials to be reused immediately and efficiently, both economically and ecologically.

Objects with a story
All handcrafted objects have a unique story to tell about their place of origin. Advertising posters and various discarded materials leave a specific record of the city. Each handcrafted product carries this story within. It's like having a part of the city with us.

The beginning
One day, by chance, we found a banner thrown in the street and realised that its material was resistant, flexible and had a unique design. We decided to turn it into a bag and presented it to the Barcelona City Council. So DEMANO was born in 1999, with the idea of recycling PVC advertising materials, such as those from exhibitions and festivals. We managed to breathe new life into a durable material, creating fun, colourful and super resistant bags.
Demano was founded in 1999. It all began when, while strolling through the city, we found a discarded advertising banner and realized its material was durable, flexible, and waterproof. Inspired, we decided to transform it into a unique bag and present it to Barcelona City Council. Thus was born Demano, a pioneering brand in the reuse of urban materials, transforming waste into sustainable fashion products with a Barcelona identity.
